I was just informed by the History Department that I received a department scholarship! I am so excited! I applied on Monday for a scholarship through the History Dept. There were two - one based on grades and one based on financial need. I was notified by email that I got the scholarship. Don't know how much it is yet, but I am "expected" to attend the History Dept. Scholarship Banquet in order to officially be awarded the scholarship. I am soo jazzed!!!
Getting the scholarship puts me closer to my goal of being able to be on campus full time. Of course, I've emailed all my family and friends to let them know. The last scholarship I got was in eighth grade. That was a while ago.
You know the wall I blogged about in my last post?? I just got my second wind!! Stay tuned . . . .

Welcome to a Blog for Older Non-Traditional Students
Being an older nontraditional student is not always easy as we try to negotiate through a sea of younger faces and attitudes. We think things like, "Will I be able to relate to these 'kids' and fit in?", "Do I remember how to study, write papers, etc.?", "How do I apply for Financial Aid?", "What if I fail a class?". Life is an adventure to be lived - nothing ventured, nothing gained. As nontrads, our goal is still the same as our younger counterparts - to get our degree, whether we are on campus or online.

Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you. :) It's always great to get any type of scholarship, whether on merit, sport, or financial need. I remember how ecstatic I was when I got my first scholarship through the Audre Lorde Scholarship Fund. It was awesome and I'm sure you feel the same type of excitement. This is such an accomplishment and I'm glad that you have been blessed with such a great opportunity. Congrats to you and may God continue to bless you with more wonderful opportunities such as this in the future. :-)
